Cankiri Karatekin University, septupling the number of foreign students in one year and making it 1500 through the Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayrancı’s internationalization target, brought these students together in an event like a festival.
“International Students Culture Night” with the participation of more than 1500 students from 30 countries was initiated with cinevision presentations of countries in Uluyazi Campus Sports Hall. Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayrancı stated that “my dear friends from all six continents of the World, from every language and colour, who come here for wisdom and knowledge, welcome all of you. Today is our wedding day. We are very close friends now. This endless friendship will be boast of our countries and children in the future. The brotherhood of our countries and people is very important for us. We just want you to love living, learn your fields well, have fun and make good friendships while you`re here. Cankiri now faces with multiculturalism as a center of Turkey. Time for stereotypes, narrow views is a thing of past. If we can compose a harmony with our friends from 30 different countries, our success will be an example to whole world.
Following his speech, CAKU Bir Yudum Anadolu Efsanesi Folk Dance Group took the stage and entertained the audience. By Djibouti, Gambia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Sudan, Iraq, Kosovo and Malian students’ show in their local costumes, excitement at the hall reached fever pitch. At the end of the event, Rector Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayrancı and accompanying delegation toured the country stands and tasted the dishes. Finally, students thanked Prof. Dr. Hasan Ayrancı for the organization and had a souvenir photograph taken together.
